Although Reebok is one of the oldest companies in the sporting goods industry, however it is still known for new innovations. Founded in 1895 as a family business as J.W. Foster & Sons in the United Kingdom, it was acknowledged for high-class sporting goods. In 1924 Foster exclusively manufactured all running shoes for all participating athletes of the Summer Olympic Games. In 1958, two grandsons of foster renamed the company as Reebok. Worldwide popularity was achieved in the 1980ies with the women’s aerobics shoes “Freestyle”. The success of this sneaker was based on a mistake made by a factory employee, who change the settings of two production lines. The outcome sample sneaker made of softer leather for gloves, was ravished by designers and celebrated as innovative sneaker by many customers.
